Mentors, thanks for participating in the virtual coffee hour meeting. A special thanks to Dr. David Warren for sharing his mentoring experience. Also, a big shout out to all of the breakout room facilitators, and my co-hosts Keosha Simmons and Debbie Buschman.
I can’t say it enough times, as I listen to all of you it gives me hope that we can make a difference in our children and the community. None of this is easy, but not impossible. Have patience and know that we’re here if you need anything. We are all trying to figure it out. If you are still experiencing some delays with meeting with your student, please stay with us. A lot of our online students are coming back to school this week, and it is shifting times and schedules for us all.
Here are somethings to remember:

Some of the comments coming out of the breakout rooms…
- A lot of concerns from mentors that they have not started their sessions yet. We are still experiencing some delays setting up mentor sessions. A couple of different reasons.
- Waiting on parent permission slips
- No computers with cameras
- Setting up safe distance between students on computers now with a lot of our online students coming back to school this week, it is shifting times and schedules for us all.
- Please stay with us. I will look into individual situations where noted from the facilitator.
- Looking for the activity links and topics. Links are embedded in this email above.
- No liaison at the school they mentor at. Schools are working to hire liaisons. Please contact me at robergem@pcsb.org. I’ll let you know the status of the position.
