Do you want to impact young people on a large scale by working with mentoring programs to increase their capacity and quality? Interact with a variety of mentoring practitioners and youth development organizations on a state-wide and national level? Work with a small, passionate, compassionate, and dynamic team? MENTOR Colorado is searching for a full-time Operations Coordinator who will have the opportunity to do all the above, plus enjoy a very flexible work environment.

Organization Overview: MENTOR Colorado was founded in April 2014 by the passion and vision of a number of grassroots organizations implementing formalized mentoring programs. These organizations established the partnership that became MENTOR Colorado to improve their ability to strengthen communities through mentoring. To amplify the impact of mentoring, MENTOR Colorado supports the growth and development of over 80 organizations throughout the state resulting in greater collaboration, higher quality mentoring programs, better use of resources, and more young people matched in quality mentoring relationships. MENTOR Colorado is an affiliate of MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, the unifying champion for expanding quality mentoring relationships in the U.S.

General Function:  The Operations Coordinator will support the work of MENTOR Colorado by ensuring all administrative facets of the organization are running smoothly.


Responsibilities Include:


  • Provide support to staff and manage day-to-day operations of our remote office
  • Update and maintain Salesforce CRM
  • Manage shared filing system
  • Create, track and process invoices for MENTOR Colorado contracts with consultants and vendors
  • Edit communication materials, grant applications and reports
  • Support fundraising efforts through research and donor follow-up
  • Coordinate and schedule organization, committee, Board/Advisory Council, and Executive Director’s meetings, materials, and agendas
  • Manage accounts and basic bookkeeping through QuickBooks Online
  • Track and support all tax filing requirements; assist in annual audit process
  • Respond to general website, voicemail, and email inquiries
  • Assist with organization’s benefits management
  • Other tasks and projects as time allows assigned by Executive Director

Event and Program Support:

  • Work with MENTOR Colorado staff to provide support for programs
  • Support setup, registration, and execution of events
  • Coordinate logistical information with event vendors, presenters, and participants
  • Respond to general questions pertaining to events
  • Manage event registration and ticketing

The Right Candidate Will Have:

  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision
  • The ability to track a lot of moving parts, adapt and prioritize in a dynamic work environment
  • Technology proficiency: familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Salesforce, Zoom, and Microsoft Office preferred
  • A deep commitment to and experience in operating and communicating with an equity lens; the ability to engage with people from many different backgrounds
  • The ability to work collaboratively with internal and external staff, strong interpersonal skills
  • An interest in and commitment to MENTOR Colorado’s mission

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $42,500-45,000/year
